Atlanta restaurants and businesses are saluting military members past and present with Veterans Day deals – and there’s still time to catch them.
AllMilitary.com has a post with some of the biggest freebies and discounts. Veterans eat free at restaurants like Applebee’s and Golden Corral. They also get freebies at Outback Steakhouse and McCormick and Schmick’s. Plus, retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe’s are offering discounts. Check the site for its full list.
Also in time for Veterans Day, the AJC’s own cartoonist Mike Luckovich joined a Persian Gulf tour with the USO this week to remind troops “America won’t ever forget.” Read his first-person account of the amazing journey with other renowned cartoonists including Doonesbury creator GB Trudeau, Rick Kirkman of Baby Blues and Bil Keane of Family Circus.
