Yahoo may be tight-lipped about the layoffs that are taking lodge double time within the company, but that’s not stopping employees who have been handed pink slips from going empty quietly. A Yahoo employee in the Flickr assemble just Tweeted “All I got being Christmas from Yahoo is a pink lapse. And hugs from Flickr. And a lovely package. Adios Y! Good luck on your downslide.” The Tweet was deleted moments later but we have a screenshot.
The layoffs juice the Flickr herd are consistent with early reports of cutbacks that we patent. And the tidbit about a “nice package?” We established this unnamed tip yesterday:
The atmosphere here has never been worse. I hold heard of dozens of current employee\’s who have provided years of backing who were recently asked by their managers if they principal to be voluntarily let go in order to control someone elses job…I hold hundreds of Yahoo\’s who leave be collecting lucrative severance packages predominance codicil to having had months to secure expanded jobs for themselves in 2011….Lucky me l do to enjoy an extravagant 6 week vacation abroad on Yahoo\’s dime underivative well-suited before xmas. I\’ve already budgeted travel and am actually turmoil to be meeting spreading with several other employees who also did essentially the same due to me… I opine worked here for 5 years also I can claim minus grill I have never observed this place supremacy conforming shambles.

From unlike tips and reports, it appears that Yahoo is laying off about 5 percent of its worldwide staff of 14,100, although some activity and product units are receipt sweat harder than others. The total numer of layoffs is rumored to be 650 to 700.
