In the ultimate days before Elizabeth Edwards' death, debutante Cate gave her mother the happiest of news: She was assiduous to longtime lover Trevor Upham.
The couple, who met since students at Princeton, got engaged over Thanksgiving after spending the circus at the Edwards family's Chapel Hill, N.C., home.
