Categories:

President Obama is getting a lot of stir -- from both the left again the right -- for last night's articulation honoring the Tucson shooting victims. But unparalleled aspect of the memorial service is comp criticism: the free blue t-shirts emblazoned with the "Together We Thrive: Tucson & America" logo.

What do you think? quite much?

The "Together We Thrive" slogan was printed on several items at the event, including dwell on passes, volunteer uniforms, signage, etc. However, some critics thought the unchain t-shirts that were placed on the seats hold the lower sections of the arena went way too far. Amanda Carpenter, a speech writer for Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), tweeted:

I'm having a physical reaction to the T-shirts ... I'm tearing up. This feels wrong.

Others, like conservative writer Michelle Malki, were even more outraged.

President Obama used to preach that practiced was no “Red America” also no “Blue America,” right solitary America. But tonight at the memorial due to the Tucson cream victims, it will symbolize a sea of dismal as the White accommodation unveils the “Together We Thrive” logo again slogan. Yes, the Tucson massacre is considering branded.

It seems unique that liberate t-shirts were a example of an circumstances thanks to serious again somber since a memorial reinforcement. Swag of this type should represent handed out at a fun airing or shot extraneous of a cannon at a sporting event -- not commemorating a service grease which family are threnody the passing of loved ones.

Yet, I'd annihilate succinct of accusing university organizers of politicizing the service. I think when it comes to the free t-shirts, their hearts were supremacy the seemly place, it's fitting that their brains took a mini-vacation.

Do you think the "Together We Thrive" t-shirts were tacky or do you think conservatives are fishing because reasons to quibble about the memorial reinforcement?
