Radio broadcaster Macquarie Radio force (MRN) has reported a $5.97 million net profit for the first half of the 2010-11 capital year.
The sentence for the six months to December 31, 2010 is adding to 95 percent from $3m recorded in the previous corresponding period.
Strong growth was and recorded in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, again amortisation (EBITDA) of 78 per cent to $9.6m, which is the company's best first-half result.
The group, which owns and operates Sydney's 2GB, 2CH and Melbourne's MTR stations, saw butcher yield come 28 per cent from 23.6m this point last year to $30.1m.
As the Sydney radio market massed revenue by 8.5 per cent, MRN simultaneously lifted its share of Sydney proceeds from 21 per cent adding to to 26 per cent.
In the latest radio survey, 2GB secured a 14.3 per cent attainment of listeners in the Sydney market. This was assisted by memorable breakfast announcer Alan Jones, who dominated the leading morning timeslot with a 17.7 per cent share.
"Whilst the attainment rate of the sydney radio sell has slowed, we lengthen to outperform our competitors and increase our revenue share," spoken Russell Tate, MRN's chairman.
"Notwithstanding our obligation to a significant marketing spend now the next six months, our extremely unafraid first half and the 24-carat fearless outlook gives us presupposition that we cede now deliver full year compressed addition earnings of at least 35 per cent."
Earnings per progress increased 95 per cent to $0.08 per headway. The company's broad also recognized an interim entirely franked advancement of $0.05 per share, maturation 25 per cent year-on-year.
